Who We Are
The National Association of Crewing Agencies of Romania (ANAC) is a non-profit trade organization founded in 1992, bringing together agencies and companies specialized in recruiting officers, ratings, and cadets for the commercial maritime sector.
We represent approximately 50% of crewing operations in Romania and serve as the most important platform for dialogue and collaboration among seafarer recruitment agencies nationwide. Our members include both independent agencies and representative offices of multinational maritime companies active in recruiting for some of the world’s largest shipowners.
We actively engage in social dialogue, promote policies favorable to the maritime industry, and support our members in staying connected to the demands and opportunities of the global market.
Mission
Our mission is to promote Romanian seafarers on the international market through high standards of recruitment, continuous professional training, and support for a sustainable, ethical, and competitive maritime industry.
Vision
Our vision is for Romania to become a benchmark of professionalism in maritime crewing through a strong network of agencies united by shared principles: responsibility, transparency, and respect for seafarers.

Representation and Advocacy
We are part of the tripartite committees (agencies – government – unions) and actively participate in drafting and negotiating legislation related to maritime labor.
Setting Standards
We develop quality criteria for our members, contributing to the professionalization of the industry and increasing the trust of international partners.
Information and Education
We organize training sessions and provide access to relevant information on international regulations and industry best practices.
Promoting the Crewing Industry
We actively engage in public and professional arenas to raise the visibility and attractiveness of the crewing industry for both seafarers and clients.
Support for Members and Seafarers
We facilitate information exchange among agencies, provide technical support, and promote the well-being of seafarers and their families.
